fan dancing workshop - 5th August 11.30am - 1.30pm CAMDEN £35
Learn the beautiful art of the fan dance with Tempest Rose. Popularized by Sally Rand in the 1930s, the classic ostrich feather fan dance is an iconic burlesque act full of elegance and tease. Learn the skills and techniques needed to fan dance gracefully - how to hold your fans, transition seamlessly between poses, move elegantly and classic fan moves and tips, - the class will end with a choreographed routine for you to try out your new skills. Tempest Rose has performed fan dances in some of the No.1 UK touring theatres in the country, at The Courtauld Gallery at Somerset House, The Hippodrome Casino, in New York and Paris Burlesque Festival and on BBC 1 on the prime time TV show Heir Hunters.
Bring your own fans or borrow a set for the session - just select the relevant option when booking in the box below. Please bring dance clothing and heels.
"own the stage" workshop - 5th august 2pm - 4pm camden £35
Ever see a performer walk on to the stage and instantly own the room? Want to know what it takes to have the audience instantly fixed on your every move and eating out of the palm of your hand? A workshop that looks at increasing your presence and prowess on the stage with queen of attitude Tempest Rose. Learn techniques to help you to own the space with your body and choreography, your personality and confidence, and improve your ability to connect with your audiences for maximum impact in your performances. Please bring dance clothes and heels.
advance striptease - 12th august 11.30am - 1.30pm camden £35
Learn to up your striptease game in this advanced striptease workshop with one of Europe's finest stripteasers Bettsie Bon Bon. Explore some harder elements such as corsetry and stockings and learn to use a prop such as a chair into your striptease. This workshop will look at all the elements of strip that you have learnt and work on incorporating into a routine for yourself, and teach you how to think outside the box in how removal can be used in your burlesque adventure.
Recommended if you have done burlesque before, please bring stockings (non-fishnet), suspenders, heels, a dress you can take off, long gloves, and a corset.
bump and grind workshop - 12th august 2pm - 4pm camden £35
Learn one of the oldest and raunchiest styles of burlesque in this fun and energetic workshop led by one of the UK's finest bump and grinders Bettsie Bon Bon! Indulge in your more sensual side and study the signature moves and techniques of this style and learn a routine. A class for all levels, dance/comfortable clothes and heels required.
